Apple has already scheduled the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus release for September 9. Leading up to the launch, some reports had also hinted that Apple was looking to release a budget version of the smartphone, aptly named the iPhone 6c. A new report is now claiming that Apple won’t release this budget iPhone, not at the Sep 9 event at least. The report further mentions that the iPhone 5c will be discontinued, thus formally killing the budget iPhone series. It’s no secret that the iPhone 5c didn’t manage to do as well as Apple expected, mainly given the company’s marketing model. In order to drive sales, the company released an 8GB version of the handset last year, but even that didn’t do much to further Apple’s cause. It is said that Apple’s entry level iPhone will be the iPhone 5s, with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus rounding off the list. This will mean that the entire iPhone lineup will be Touch ID enabled. As for the new iPhones, Apple is expected to be using a new 12MP camera sensor capable of recording 4K videos. It is also said that the company will use a front facing flash for selfies, although this rumor has only recently popped up. The company is also expected to use a superior 7000 Series Aluminum with the new iPhones to quell any fears of bending, which caused quite a lot of concern for the users of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus last year.
