BENGALURU: Chief Product Officer is luring techies from India and the Silicon Valley to work for the fashion etailer Myntra’s new chief product officer will go on a hiring spree, not only luring Indian talent but technologists from abroad to work with the fashion retailer as he chalks out a product strategy to capture a major chunk of India’s online fashion sales.
“Building a team and getting the team set up is one of the top priorities,” Ambarish Kenghe said in his first media interview after taking on the top job at Myntra.
Kenghe, a former Googler, recently wrote up his thoughts on product management and sent it to his team.”They already know all this but nudging a bit more takes it to the next level,” he said. As chief product officer, he is also chalking out a product strategy for the company.
He spends much of his time identifying gaps in Myntra’s talent pool and convincing technologists to join the fashion retailer. “These are critical positions where we are looking for the right fit,” he said.
“I’m talking to a lot of people right now, even people who are not Indians, for positions in Myntra,” said Kenghe who is also looking to groom product talent within Myntra’s ranks.
